Computing Fundamentals

The Computing Fundamentals course has been designed to provide the learners with the  required generic knowledge and skills to comfortably use the computing devices in their day to day life, during their student life as well as in their personal and career life ahead.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:

To provide a basic understanding of Computing Systems and its applicability in the real life environments.
To help develop practical skills in the basic operation of Computers
To familiarize with general software utilities as automation tools.
To instill the basic skill to protect the electronic devices from vulnerabilities
To prepare students with the skills to handle all electronic documentation both in their student life as well as going forward in their careers.


TARGET AUDIENCE:


This computer fundamentals course is useful to anyone,including students, teachers, office administrators, or laymen,  who wish to use computing devices for their day to day activities.  .  


EXPECTED OUTCOME:


On completion of this course, the participants should be able to:

  1. Identify hardware devices and practically use them 

  2. Seamlessly work with Operating Systems, to manage their devices

  3. Identify and choose software applications and install on their devices

  4. Create and manage documents using Word Processors

  5. Create and manage spreadsheets particularly for numeric calculations

  6. Create manage, and present reports using slide presentations

  7. Use email application for communication / messaging

  8. Use a Calendar application to organize activities and tasks.

  9. Take precautions to protect their devices from security threats
